Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (ver. 95/03/22, USA) is an arcade game released in the mid-1990s, based on the popular Sailor Moon anime and manga series. This particular version, labeled 95/03/22, represents a build released specifically for the USA market during a time when anime-themed games were gaining traction outside Japan. The arcade platform was a common venue for licensed games, aiming to capture fans of the source material with recognizable characters and action-oriented gameplay. During the 1990s, arcade games often featured side-scrolling beat 'em up or action mechanics, and titles based on popular anime franchises typically followed this trend. Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon fits into this category, offering players a cooperative experience with one or two players controlling characters from the Sailor Moon universe. Compared to other arcade games of the era, it shares the familiar fast-paced combat and boss battles but distinguishes itself with its anime style and thematic presentation centered on magical girl heroes. Today, the game appeals primarily to fans of retro arcade beat 'em ups and Sailor Moon enthusiasts interested in vintage licensed titles. Players who enjoy cooperative play and nostalgia for 90s anime culture will find it engaging, though it may feel somewhat conventional compared to more mechanically complex arcade games of the same period. The game serves as both a collectible curiosity and a straightforward action experience for those exploring the arcade catalog from the mid-90s.
