Cadash (World)
Cadash (World) on arcade
Cadash is an action role-playing platform game that Taito originally released for arcades in 1990. It arrived during a period when arcade machines were pushing beyond simple shooters and beat‑'em‑ups into more complex genres. The game stands out as one of the first arcade titles to blend real‑time platforming with character progression and inventory management.
You begin by picking one of four character classes: Fighter, Mage, Priest, or Ninja. Each has unique stats, starting equipment, and magic abilities. The side‑scrolling levels are filled with monsters to fight, treasure chests to open, and traps to avoid. Defeated enemies drop gold and experience points - leveling up increases your health, attack power, and spell access. You can buy new weapons, armor, and items from shops found in towns between stages.
Even by modern standards, Cadash feels satisfying because it respects your time. Sessions are short enough for an arcade visit but the RPG layers give it lasting appeal. The multiple character classes encourage repeat plays, and the bright sprite art and catchy soundtrack are pure Taito charm. It has been re‑released on several compilations and as an Arcade Archives title, so it's not hard to find today. Recommended for anyone who enjoys action RPGs or wants to see how the genre translated to coin‑op machines.
How to Play Cadash (World) Online
When you start Cadash, the first screen asks you to choose a character class. Take a moment to read the descriptions - the Fighter has high attack and defense, the Mage uses powerful spells, the Priest can heal and has balanced stats, and the Ninja is fast with good magic. Your choice affects how you approach combat and exploration.
Once the game begins, you control your character through side‑scrolling levels. The objective is to reach the exit at the end of each stage while defeating monsters and collecting gold and items. Defeated enemies sometimes drop food or potions to restore health and magic. Leveling up happens automatically when you earn enough experience, so focus on fighting as many creatures as you can.
The arcade version uses a credit system - you have a limited number of lives and continues. Dying sends you back to the start of the area, so it pays to learn enemy patterns and use your resources wisely. Visit the item shop whenever you find one to upgrade your equipment between stages.
