BurgerTime is an arcade game from Data East, released in 1982 across Japan and the USA. It's a classic single-player action-puzzle title where you play as a chef named Peter Pepper. The game was designed in-house by Data East but the actual development was outsourced to another company. On the arcade scene, it stood out for its unique premise and became a beloved staple of early 80s gaming.

Players control Peter Pepper as he walks across a series of platforms, each holding parts of a giant hamburger. The goal is to walk over each ingredient - bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, patty - to drop it down to the next level, eventually assembling the full burger at the bottom. Enemies like Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Egg, and Mr. Pickle chase Peter, and you can temporarily stun them by dropping ingredients on them or by using pepper spray. The levels get harder with more enemies and tighter layouts.

Today, BurgerTime remains a charming and challenging arcade title that captures the simple, addictive fun of early game design.
