Getting Started

The objective in Bonanza Bros. is to guide your burglar through a series of rooms in a building, stealing loot while avoiding or knocking out patrolling guards. You control one of two brothers (or both in two‑player mode) and move left or right through the side‑scrolling stages. The perspective gives you a three‑dimensional sense of depth, but your movement stays strictly on a 2D plane.

Start by choosing a stage from the selection screen. Your first goal is to reach the exit after grabbing all the valuable items. Guards wander around and will sound an alarm if they spot you. You can jump over them, punch them from behind to knock them out temporarily, or hide behind objects. The key is to plan your route and timing carefully - charging in blindly will get you caught fast. Each successful clear adds to your score and unlocks the next building.

If you're playing alone, you control one brother while the other waits at the start. The two‑player cooperative mode is the real draw here, letting you work together to distract guards and cover more ground. Keep an eye on your energy meter - getting hit too many times ends your run. The game saves your progress via a password system if you're playing at home, but in the arcade version it's all about high scores and continues.
