Big Karnak
Getting to Know Big Karnak
Big Karnak is a platform game that hit arcades in 1991, developed and published by the Spanish company Gaelco. If you remember the early 90s arcade boom, this one fit right in with the wave of action-platformers flooding cabinets at the time. It's set in Ancient Egypt, which was a popular theme then, but Gaelco gave it their own spin with a pharaoh warrior protagonist.
How to Play Big Karnak Online
When you first start Big Karnak, you're dropped into a side-scrolling level as the pharaoh warrior. Your goal is to fight through mythical creatures and Egyptian gods to rescue your wife. The core loop is straightforward: run right, avoid or kill enemies by jumping on them or using attacks, and collect any power-ups or items you find.
Watch out for pits and projectiles - enemies come in different forms, some requiring timing to dodge or hit. The game gives you a health bar, so you can take a few hits, but it's better to stay on the move. Progress is linear: you clear a stage, then move to the next, with a boss fight at the end of each world. If you're new, focus on learning enemy patterns and using the terrain to your advantage.
