Bermuda Triangle (Japan)
Bermuda Triangle (Japan) Overview
Bermuda Triangle is a 1987 vertically scrolling shooter from SNK that originally hit Japanese arcades. SNK developed and published it, and it's one of their lesser-known arcade titles from that era. The Japanese version is the original release, which later got a digital port in the Arcade Archives series on modern platforms.
You control a fighter jet moving around a scrolling battlefield, blasting waves of enemy aircraft and ground targets. Power-ups appear to enhance your weapons, and each stage ends with a boss that requires focused fire and dodging to defeat. The core loop is classic arcade shooter: survive, collect upgrades, and push forward through increasingly tough formations.
As a vertical shooter from SNK, Bermuda Triangle fits right alongside other late-80s coin-op blasters. It's not as famous as some of SNK's later Neo Geo hits, but it's a solid example of the genre with crisp graphics and challenging gameplay. If you enjoy straightforward arcade shooters from this period, this one is worth a few credits for its tight action and retro appeal.
How to Play Bermuda Triangle (Japan) Online
Getting Started
When you start the game, press Enter to insert a credit and then V to start playing. The screen will show a staged progression - you control your fighter jet immediately and enemies start appearing from the top.
The main objective is to shoot everything that moves while avoiding enemy fire and collisions. Collect floating power-up icons to upgrade your shot, which makes taking down later waves and bosses much easier. Each level ends with a boss fight; learn its attack pattern and find openings to defeat it before moving on.
Because this is the Japanese version, menus and text are in Japanese, but the gameplay is purely action-based so you don't need to read anything to play. Focus on movement and firing - typical shooter rules apply. There is no save feature; each credit gives you one try until you run out of lives.
