Andro Dunos is a scrolling shooter that hit Neo Geo arcade cabinets in 1992. Developed by Visco Corporation and published by SNK, it was Visco's first game for both the MVS arcade and AES home systems. The game is part of a strong lineage of Neo Geo shooters from that era. Players pilot a starfighter through vertically scrolling stages, blasting waves of enemy ships and collecting power-ups to upgrade their weapon loadout. The core loop involves dodging enemy fire, taking out larger foes, and facing off against a boss at the end of each level. Weapon options and smart bomb pickups add tactical choices during the action. For fans of early 90s arcade shooters, Andro Dunos holds up well as a solid entry in the Neo Geo library. While it doesn't reinvent the genre, its crisp visuals and tight controls make it a satisfying playthrough. It's worth checking out if you enjoy titles like Pulstar or Blazing Star, even if it's a bit more straightforward.

How to play Andro Dunos online

Getting Started

Fire up the game and press the Start key (Enter) to begin. The title screen presents the standard Neo Geo options - you can insert coins (Select) to add credits, then press Start to jump into the action. Menus are in English, so navigation is straightforward.

Once in-game, your ship moves with the arrow keys and fires automatically with the A or B buttons (X or S by default). The objective is to survive each vertically scrolling stage while destroying every enemy. As you defeat foes, they drop power-ups: the lettered capsules upgrade your main weapon, the large sphere adds a sidekick satellite, and the bomb icon replenishes your screen-clearing smart bomb stock. Learn to time your weapon upgrades because picking a new one resets your current level. Boss fights appear at the end of each stage, requiring pattern memorization and precise dodging. Keep moving, and don't hoard bombs too long.
