How to play Spider-Man online

Getting Started

When you hit Start, you'll see a title screen and then a brief cutscene with the Daily Bugle. From there, you jump straight into the first level. The goal is simple: fight your way through each stage, defeat the boss at the end, and move to the next. There is no explore mode - just left-to-right progression with occasional vertical sections where you climb walls. Combat is your bread and butter. Use the D-Pad to move Spider-Man, press the B button (S key) to punch and kick, and the A button (X key) to jump. You can web-zip by pressing the Y button (Z key) while in the air, which pulls you toward walls or enemies. Your health bar is at the top, and collecting hearts refills it. Watch out for pits and environmental hazards. There are no continues or saves in the usual sense, but the game uses a password system after each level so you can continue your progress later. Enemies get tougher as you go. Learn the attack patterns of each boss - many require jumping and hitting from above or timing your web attacks. If you get stuck, try switching between punches and web shots. The game is short, so a determined player can finish it in an hour or two.
