ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron is a side-scrolling platformer released for the SEGA Genesis in 1993. It's the sequel to the cult hit ToeJam & Earl from 1991, developed by Johnson Voorsanger Productions and published by Sega. This game shifts away from the roguelike exploration of its predecessor and into a more traditional platforming format, while still keeping the funky alien aesthetic and sense of humor that made the original stand out.
How to Play Toe Jam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron (USA) Online
After the title screen, press Start to enter the main menu. Use the D-Pad to highlight either 1 Player or 2 Player mode and press X to confirm. The game begins with ToeJam and Earl on their home planet Funkotron, which has been overrun by Earthling stowaways. Each stage is a side-scrolling level filled with enemies, obstacles, and collectible items.
The core objective is to hunt down all the Earthlings and capture them using jars. Move with the D-Pad, jump with X, and use S to run or attack. Getting close to an Earthling and pressing the appropriate button will trap it inside a jar. Be careful, as Earthlings can damage you on contact. Collecting food items restores health, and other power-ups offer temporary advantages.
If you're playing two-player co-op, both players share the same screen. Team up to cover more ground and tackle tougher enemies. Dying costs a life, and losing all lives results in a game over. Learn enemy patterns, explore every area, and capture every Earthling to clear each level and progress through the planet.
