Getting Started

When you start Steel Talons, you are presented with a title screen and options to choose between single-player or two-player modes. The game offers three distinct missions where your objective is to fly through stages, engage enemy ground and air units, and survive. There is also a deathmatch arena for competitive head-to-head play.

The core loop involves piloting your helicopter using the D-pad for movement and the A button for firing weapons. You must manage your altitude and avoid obstacles while taking out targets. The game does not include a save feature, so plan to complete each mission in one sitting. Cooperative play allows a second player to join, with both helicopters sharing the screen.

New players should start with the first mission to get a feel for the controls. The helicopter moves in all directions, and you can rotate your aim to shoot at enemies. Watch for incoming fire and use the terrain for cover. The deathmatch mode is great for quick bursts of action against a friend.
