How to play Sonic the Hedgehog online

To start playing, load the ROM in your browser emulator and press Enter to get past the title screen. You'll be taken to the level select or directly into Green Hill Zone, depending on the hack's configuration. The goal in each stage is to reach the end signpost while collecting as many rings as possible and avoiding or destroying enemies. Master the basics: hold right on the Arrow Keys to accelerate Sonic, tap X to jump, and press S to spin while in the air for a more effective attack. Rings act as your health bar - if you get hit with at least one ring, they scatter and you can recollect them quickly. If you have no rings and take damage, you lose a life. Chaos Emeralds appear in special stages accessed by jumping into giant rings at certain points. Collecting all six gives you the good ending. This hack keeps the same fundamental rules as the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Take your time learning level layouts, because later zones are unforgiving with bottomless pits and tight platforming.
