Getting Started

Start the game and you'll be presented with a title screen - press Enter to proceed. As a Sonic fan project, the basic loop is the same as the original: control Sonic as he runs from left to right through loop-de-loop-filled levels, collecting rings and stomping on enemies (mostly badniks). The goal of each act is to reach the giant signpost at the end while avoiding spikes, pits, and hazards.

Since this is an early build (0.04A), expect only a small number of zones or even a single act to be playable. You may also notice placeholder graphics, missing music, or unfinished collision - this is normal for a prototype. The physics feel similar to Sonic 1, but slight differences in momentum and air control reflect the homebrew nature. Use the A button (X key) to jump and the B button (S key) to spin dash (if implemented). Collect at least 50 rings and hit a checkpoint to access the special stage if one exists.

If the game crashes or behaves oddly, try resetting the emulator (usually F11 or through the menu). Because this is a fan project without a manual, experimentation is your best guide. The core challenge remains reaching the goal ring without dying - something any Sonic fan will recognize instantly.
