Getting Started

Since this is a recolor hack, playing it is nearly identical to playing regular Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Genesis emulator. After booting the ROM or loading the game in your browser, you'll see the title screen. Press Enter (Start) to skip the intro and reach the main menu. Use the arrow keys to highlight options like "1 Player" or "2 Player" and press X or S to confirm. The game lacks any separate configuration screens unique to the hack.

The core loop is pure Sonic: you control Sonic (now pink) as he runs from left to right through zones such as Emerald Hill Zone. Collect gold rings for protection; losing all rings after taking a hit from an enemy or spike causes a death. To defeat badniks like the hover-like Motobug, roll or jump into them. When rings are lost, you can reclaim a fraction if you grab them quickly before they disappear. The spin dash (a charged roll) is performed by pressing down on the D-Pad, holding S (B button) to charge, and then releasing S to burst forward.

None of the special mechanics from the original game are altered in this hack, so the same bonus stages and chaos emerald hunt apply. If you are familiar with Sonic 2, you will feel right at home. New players should take care around bottomless pits and spikes; the pink palette does not change hitboxes or level layouts. There is no in-game tutorial - just learn by doing and use the classic technique of rolling through loops and bouncing off enemies.
