This is a fan-made modification of Sonic 3 & Knuckles for the SEGA Genesis, often referred to as "Sonic 3 & Shadow." The hack replaces the standard Sonic sprite with Shadow the Hedgehog, giving players a new visual and gameplay twist on a classic platformer.
At its core, the game plays just like the original Sonic 3 & Knuckles: you run through side-scrolling levels, collect rings, defeat enemies, and reach the goal ring at the end of each act. The main difference is that Shadow handles very similarly to Sonic - he can spin dash, jump, and use elemental shields, but some versions tweak his speed or jump height slightly. How to Play Sonic 3 & Shadow Online
Getting Started
When you boot up the game, you'll see the SEGA screen and then the title screen - press Enter to start. From the menu, you can choose between Sonic & Tails, just Tails, or just Knuckles in most versions; since this is a hack, the character select may be modified. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to highlight an option and press X (A button) to confirm.
The core loop is pure Sonic: run from left to right through each act, collect rings (they protect you from one hit), smash badniks, and reach the giant ring at the end. If you hold down on the D-pad and press X or S, you can spin dash. Coins let you roll into enemies faster. Watch out for spikes and bottomless pits - one mistake and you'll lose your rings, followed by a life if you get hit again without any.
Because this is a fan hack, menus and text are in English (assuming you're playing the common version). There are no difficulty settings or language options to worry about. Just jump in and enjoy a familiar run with a different character.
