How to Play Sonic 2 Super Sonic Blue Online
Getting Started: This is a hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2, so the controls and goals are identical. Press Start (Enter) at the title screen to begin a new game. You control Sonic through a series of zones, each split into two acts, with a boss fight at the end of the second act.
Your main objective is to reach the goalpost at the end of each act as quickly as possible. Collect rings to protect yourself from enemy hits - getting hit with zero rings means losing a life. Spin dash by holding down and pressing the jump button, then releasing to shoot forward. This is especially useful for gaining speed and breaking through obstacles.
If you collect at least 50 rings and find a giant ring at the end of a checkpoint, jump into it to enter a special stage. These bonus stages task you with collecting a certain number of rings while running through a half-pipe course. Completing a special stage earns you a Chaos Emerald - collecting all seven unlocks Super Sonic in the original game. In this hack, since Sonic already appears blue, the transformation may be purely cosmetic or disabled entirely, but the mechanics remain identical to the original game.
