How to play Sonic 2 Return of Shadow online

Getting Started

Boot the ROM and you'll see a modified title screen. Press Start to begin the first zone. The hack retains the classic Sonic 2 structure: run from left to right, collect rings, and avoid or defeat enemies. Shadow's unique abilities (homing attack or chaos dash) are mapped to the A button (X key). Use them to quickly dispatch enemies and break through obstacles.

Your goal in each act is to reach the goal sign. Watch for new level layouts - some areas require precise platforming or are filled with traps not present in the original Sonic 2. Rings still act as health; losing them with no rings in stock means a life lost. There are no save features, so complete the game in one session or memorize passwords if the hack includes them (most standard hacks do not).
