Sonic 1 - Master Edition IV

Getting Started Start the game by pressing Enter. You will see the classic Sonic 1 title screen - Master Edition IV likely uses the same introductory sequence. Use the D-Pad (Arrow Keys) to move Sonic left and right, and press X to jump. The goal is to race through each level from left to right, avoiding enemies and obstacles while collecting rings. Rings act as a health buffer; losing all rings upon taking damage means death unless you have at least one ring left. Each zone is divided into three acts. Act 3 usually ends in a boss fight against Dr. Robotnik. The hack may alter level layouts, add new gimmicks, or tweak enemy placements, but the core loop remains identical to the original: speed through each act, collect as many rings as possible, and reach the goal post. If you are familiar with Sonic 1, you will feel right at home. If not, take time to learn the physics - momentum is key, and spin-dashing (press down, then jump while holding down) is available if the hack retains that move.
