Sonic 1 - Dick Move Prevention Edition

Getting Started: You control Sonic as he speeds through Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone, and beyond, collecting rings and defeating enemies. The core loop is classic platforming: run, jump, spin-attack badniks, and reach the giant ring at the end of each act. What makes this edition different is that several unfair traps, enemy placements, and instant-death pitfalls have been adjusted or removed, so you're less likely to die from something you couldn't have seen coming. Start by pressing Enter, select your save slot if prompted (usually just Start again), then use the D-Pad to move and X or S to jump or spin-dash. If you're used to the original Sonic 1, you'll immediately notice some hazards are gone or repositioned. The game still plays identically otherwise - no new zones or abilities, just a fairer experience. If you get stuck, remember that rings act as a buffer; losing all rings means one hit kills you, but extra lives are still plentiful.
