How to Play Sonic 1 Candy Edition Online
If this is your first time with Sonic 1 Candy Edition, the basic flow is the same as the original: choose a level from the title screen and race to the goal. The controls are responsive; hold the D-Pad right to accelerate and tap the jump button to clear obstacles. Because this is a hack, some levels may have altered visuals or even different layouts, so keep an eye out for surprises.
The ring system works the same: collect at least one ring to survive a hit, and grab 50 to access the special stage from a checkpoint. The special stages let you collect Chaos Emeralds for a better ending, but they aren't required to finish the game. If you get hit with no rings, you lose a life.
