How to Play Somari the Adventurer Online
To start playing Somari the Adventurer, load the ROM in your emulator and press Enter to start the game. You'll be dropped into Green Hill Zone as Mario. The core loop is exactly like Sonic: run to the right, jump on enemies (or roll into them), collect rings for protection, avoid spikes and pits, and reach the signpost at the end of the level. Holding down the D-Pad and pressing S at full speed triggers a spin dash, which can break walls and destroy badniks.
If you are familiar with the original Sonic the Hedgehog, you already know how to play this hack. The only difference is visual - Mario is the protagonist, and the rings are still rings. Green Hill Zone acts as a tutorial; after clearing it, you progress through Marble, Spring Yard, and Labyrinth Zones. The game has a time limit of ten minutes per act; collecting 50 rings in a stage lets you access a Special Stage (though the hack may glitch there). Save states are optional but helpful for practice. There are no extra lives or continues in the original Sonic, so expect a challenging run until you learn the layout.
