Shadow Dancer - The Secret of Shinobi (World)
Shadow Dancer - The Secret of Shinobi (World) Overview
Shadow Dancer - The Secret of Shinobi on SEGA Genesis is a home console adaptation that deliberately diverges from its arcade counterpart. Developed and published by Sega, this action-platformer originally hit Japanese shelves in 1990 followed by a North American release the next year. It sits within Sega's storied shinobi series but has always been the underdog compared to Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi III.
How to Play Shadow Dancer - The Secret of Shinobi (World) Online
Getting Started
You step into the tabi of a lone ninja accompanied by a faithful dog who can attack enemies on command. The core loop involves moving left to right through side-scrolling stages, dispatching thugs with thrown shurikens or your sword, and using your canine partner to take down foes you cannot reach easily.
Press A to jump and S to attack. Your dog follows automatically; you can send it after enemies by pressing the button mapped to Z. Some doors and obstacles require specific timing or an attack to proceed. Health is limited, so keep moving and watch for enemy patterns.
Between stages you see a map screen. The game does not feature any RPG elements or power-ups beyond simple weapon pickups you find along the way. If you hit a dead end, try attacking walls or ledges you can grapple onto.
