How to play Pac-Mania online
Getting Started
When you start Pac-Mania, you'll see a title screen and then the game will drop you into the first maze. Your mission is simple: eat all the white dots scattered across the isometric grid while avoiding the four colorful ghosts. Use the D-Pad (Arrow Keys) to move Pac-Man around the maze. Unlike earlier Pac-Man games, you can also jump by pressing the A button (X key). This lets you leap over ghosts to escape tight spots or cut corners. The maze is shown from an angle, so directional movement is relative to the screen; it may take a moment to get used to.
The core loop is straightforward: navigate each screen, eat pellets, and use power pellets (the larger blinking dots) to temporarily turn ghosts blue and eat them for bonus points. Each cleared maze advances you to a new one with a different layout and faster ghost speed. There are no lives shown on screen initially - you have a set number of lives, and losing one means restarting the current maze. You can also collect fruit items that appear for extra points. The game is controlled entirely with movement and jumping; there's no run or attack button needed because the jump is your main evasive move.
A few tips for new players: use the jump sparingly at first because it has a slight recovery animation. Try to memorize the maze layouts to plan escape routes. The ghosts have unique behaviors - one chases, another ambushes, etc. - but you don't need to know them all to enjoy the game. Just focus on eating pellets and jumping over trouble. If you get cornered, jumping is often better than trying to duck away. With practice, you'll be clearing mazes with ease.
