How to play Hunter Tails in Sonic 1 online

Getting started is straightforward. After pressing Start on the title screen, you will begin in Green Hill Zone. The core loop remains identical to Sonic 1: run from left to right, collect rings, defeat badniks, and reach the goal sign at the end of each act. What changes is your character. Tails can perform a spin jump like Sonic, but in this hack he may also retain his ability to fly briefly by tapping the jump button in midair - a mechanic from the later Sonic games. Experiment with double-tapping jump to see if flight is active in this build.

Keep an eye on your ring count; getting hit without rings means death. Special stages are triggered by collecting 50 rings and jumping into the giant ring at the end of the act. The level layout is unchanged from the original, so any guide for Sonic 1 will work here. The menus, text, and HUD are all in English, matching the original US release, so navigation is no different. Just jump in and enjoy a familiar but slightly different take on a classic.
