Getting Started

Start the game by pressing Enter at the title screen. You'll see a prompt to choose between one-player or two-player alternating mode (use the D-Pad and confirm with X). Once in the game, your ship moves in eight directions with the Arrow Keys. Press S to fire your main weapon and hold it for rapid fire. The game scrolls from left to right, so keep moving or risk getting trapped.

The core loop is straightforward: shoot down waves of enemies while avoiding their bullets and obstacles. Defeated enemies sometimes drop power-up icons - fly over them to collect. These icons let you switch between different weapon types (e.g., spread, laser, homing). You can cycle through weapons by pressing Z (Y button) during play. Each weapon has its own upgrade level, so try to collect multiple of the same type to power it up.

A couple of tips for new players: learn the weapon cycle early - some sections are easier with a spread shot, while bosses may require concentrated fire. Also, watch for the shield power-up (looks like a letter S) that gives temporary invincibility. Finally, don't be afraid to die; you'll respawn with a brief period of invulnerability. The game is tough but fair, and practice makes perfect.
