Deadly Moves (USA)
Getting to Know Deadly Moves (USA)
Deadly Moves is a 2D fighting game that landed on the Sega Genesis early in the console's life, seeing a North American release sometime around the early 1990s. I haven't been able to confirm the exact developer or publisher from my usual sources, so it remains a bit of an obscure title in the Genesis library. Despite that, it's a straightforward cartridge release from the era when fighting games were booming.
How to Play Deadly Moves (USA) Online
When you start Deadly Moves, you'll see a title screen and menu. Use the D-Pad to highlight options like '1 Player' or 'VS Mode' and press Start to select. In single-player, you control the martial artist Joe as he fights a series of opponents from around the world. Each match is a best-of-three rounds affair where you need to deplete the opponent's health bar before they drain yours. The versus mode lets two players battle locally using the same controls.
The core loop is simple: win fights to progress through the roster. New players should start by pressing the attack buttons (S for punch/kick, Z for a different move) to get a feel for Joe's range and speed. There's no complicated command list required to enjoy the basic fights, so just jump in and learn through repetition. If you're playing alone, expect to face a handful of fighters before the credits roll.
