Bonanza Bros. hit the SEGA Genesis in 1990, bringing a colorful and quirky arcade port to home consoles. Developed and published by Sega, this title blends stealth and action in a way few games of the era attempted. While the arcade original offered a unique two-player co-op experience, the Genesis version preserved that same distinctive premise: a pair of thieves sneaking through buildings to grab loot. Each level takes place inside a multi-room building patrolled by guards. You control one of the two brothers, moving from room to room to collect all the treasure while avoiding detection. Guards have a limited field of vision, and you can knock them out by hitting them from behind, but they will wake up after a short time. The core loop is simple: clear the building before the time runs out, and if you get caught, you have to start the level over. Co-op play is the highlight, as two players can coordinate to distract guards or cover more ground. Today, Bonanza Bros. remains a charming curiosity in the Genesis library. Its cartoonish visuals and bouncy soundtrack give it a lighthearted feel that stands apart from more serious stealth games.
