How to play BattleTech - A Game of Armored Combat online
Getting Started
When you start the game, you'll see a title screen and then a menu where you can pick your mech and choose a mission. The main objective is to destroy all enemy units on the map. Use the D-pad to move your mech in eight directions. The X button (A) is used to jump over obstacles or confirm selections, while the S button (B) fires your current weapon and can also be used to run or cancel.
The core gameplay loop is simple: walk around the map, lock onto enemies by facing them, and blast away while watching your heat gauge. If you overheat, your mech will shut down temporarily, leaving you vulnerable. You can cycle through weapons with the shoulder buttons (Q and E) to use different ranges and damage types. Each mission ends when all enemies are destroyed or the primary objective is met.
New players should pay attention to the radar in the corner to spot enemies approaching from off-screen. Also, try to keep moving - standing still makes you an easy target. The game is not very long, but later missions can get tough, so don't be afraid to restart if you get stuck. There's no continue system, so practice makes perfect.

BattleTech - A Game of Armored Combat FAQ
Who developed BattleTech - A Game of Armored Combat?
The developer is not widely documented for this specific Genesis port. The original SNES version was handled by Beam Software, but it's unclear if they also did the Genesis conversion.
Is BattleTech - A Game of Armored Combat exclusive to SEGA Genesis or did it appear on other systems?
It also appeared on the Super Nintendo under the title MechWarrior 3050. That version is essentially the same game with a different name.
Is BattleTech - A Game of Armored Combat considered easy to pick up or challenging?
It's fairly easy to understand the controls and objectives right away, but the later missions can be tough because of enemy numbers and heat management. It sits in a comfortable middle ground - not too hardcore, but not a pushover.
