About Atomic Runner (USA)
Atomic Runner (USA) is the Sega Genesis port of Data East's 1988 arcade side-scrolling shooter platformer, originally known as Atomic Runner Chelnov. It landed on the Genesis in 1992, bringing the frantic action home. You take the role of Chelnov, a coal miner who survives a nuclear plant explosion and gains superhuman powers, which a secret organization then tries to exploit for their own schemes.

Getting Started
The moment you press Start, Chelnov starts running forward automatically. Your job is to shoot down enemies and jump over obstacles before they slow you down or kill you. The screen scrolls at a steady pace, so you always need to stay ahead of the left edge or lose a life.
Collect health restoratives and weapon upgrades that float in the air or drop from certain enemies. The core loop is straightforward: run, jump, shoot, survive. There are several stages, each ending with a tough boss fight. Your lives are limited, and continues are available if you run out, but you'll restart from the beginning of a stage.
