Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf

Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf is a sports title released for the SEGA Genesis in the early 1990s, making its way to both the USA and Europe. It's a straightforward golf simulation that puts you on the green without any flashy story or characters, just the pure sport. The game was part of the early Genesis library, aiming to capture the growing interest in golf games on home consoles. At its core, this is a golf game through and through. You can go head to head with a friend in a two-player match or take on the full international tournament against fifteen computer-controlled competitors. The gameplay revolves around selecting clubs, adjusting swing power and direction, and reading the green. You'll navigate standard golf obstacles like sand traps and water hazards, with a simple but effective interface that keeps the focus on your shot rather than on elaborate menus. For fans of retro sports games, this title holds a simple charm. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but delivers a solid, no-frills golf experience that captures the era's typical arcade-adjacent feel. Compared to later simulations, it's basic, but the two-player mode gives it lasting replay value. If you enjoy classic golf games and want to see how the genre played out on the Genesis, this is a decent pick, though it lacks the depth of modern titles.
