6-Pak is a compilation cartridge released by Sega for the Genesis console in 1995, exclusively in North America. It bundles six of the system's most popular titles from the early 1990s, spanning multiple genres including platforming, beat 'em up, action, puzzle, and racing. As a first-party publication, it showcases Sega's strongest arcade ports and original hits from that era. Players select one of six games from a simple menu screen before diving in. Each included game has its own unique mechanics: Sonic the Hedgehog focuses on speed-based platforming, Golden Axe is a side-scrolling beat 'em up, Streets of Rage delivers city brawling, The Revenge of Shinobi offers ninja action with weapons and magic, Columns is a falling-block puzzle game, and Super Hang-On is a motorcycle racing game. The compilation itself acts as a hub; after playing, you can return to the menu to try another title. What makes 6-Pak worth revisiting today is its sheer value and variety. It captures a snapshot of the Genesis library at its peak, giving players a taste of different gameplay styles in one cartridge. While none of the games are remastered or enhanced, the selection remains strong and holds up well for retro sessions. If you're looking for a convenient way to experience several Genesis classics, this is a solid pick.

How to play 6-Pak online

Getting Started When the game boots, you will see a title screen for the 6-Pak compilation. Press Enter to proceed to the main menu, which presents the six available games as icons or text. Use the Arrow Keys to highlight a game and press X (A button) to select it. Once you choose a game, you are taken directly into that title's own start screen. From there, each game has its own controls and objectives. For example, in Sonic the Hedgehog you hold right and press X to jump; in Golden Axe you press S to attack and X to jump. If you want to switch to another game, press the emulator's reset (or use the menu's back option if available) to return to the 6-Pak menu. The core loop is simply exploring each game individually. There is no overarching story or persistent progression across the compilation. Since all games are in English, menus and instructions are straightforward for English-speaking players.
