Inside Motteke Tamago

Motteke Tamago is a puzzle game released exclusively for the NEC PC Engine CD in the early 1990s. It was published and developed by an unknown company, and like many CD-ROM titles for that platform, it likely made use of redbook audio for music and occasional voice samples. The game is relatively obscure, even among PC Engine enthusiasts, and no English localization was ever produced, so playing it today usually means navigating through Japanese menus.

How to play Motteke Tamago online

Getting Started

The primary objective in Motteke Tamago involves guiding eggs into a designated basket or container. You control a character at the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to catch falling eggs. The game gets progressively faster as more eggs appear, so quick reflexes are needed.

Since the game is entirely in Japanese, the main menu and any instructions may be difficult to read. Look for kanji related to "start" or "game begin" (often the first option) to jump into action. Pay attention to the HUD - likely a score counter and a limited number of lives or chances before game over.

There are no continues or save features; it's an arcade-style challenge meant to be replayed until you master the timing. Experiment with different catch positions and don't let any eggs hit the ground. That's the core loop - catch, avoid, survive as long as you can.
