Getting Started

Horror Story is a text-driven adventure presented entirely in Japanese. When you start the game, you will see a title screen and possibly a menu with options like "Start" (はじめから) and "Load" (ロード). Use the D-pad and the A button (X key) to navigate and select. The game will then present a narrative with static backgrounds and text boxes, often accompanied by voice acting.

The core gameplay involves exploring environments by selecting directional commands or clicking on hotspots. You will need to examine objects, pick up items, and solve puzzles to advance the story. There are no action sequences; it is purely about reading and making logical choices. If you are unfamiliar with Japanese, you may need a guide or translation to understand the plot and puzzle solutions.

Pay attention to dialogue and save frequently using the game's save function (likely found in the menu). The CD format allows for multiple save slots, so use them to avoid getting stuck. Horror Story is a linear experience, but some choices may lead to dead ends, so keep multiple saves handy.
