Rugrats - Time Travelers (USA)
Getting to Know Rugrats - Time Travelers (USA)
Rugrats: Time Travelers hit the Game Boy Color in late 1999, right when the handheld was hitting its stride. It was the second Rugrats game on the system and the first one made exclusively for the color screen. Developed by Software Creations and published by THQ, it's a straightforward platformer that follows the familiar Nickelodeon cast. No connection to any PC or console titles from the same franchise - this one's a handheld original.
How to Play Rugrats - Time Travelers (USA) Online
Getting started is simple. Pick a level from the time machine hub, which is located inside a toy store. Each stage is a side-scrolling platformer where you control one of the Rugrats characters - usually Tommy or Chuckie. The core goal is to reach the end of the stage, avoiding obstacles and enemies based on everyday objects made giant from a baby's perspective.
You can jump on enemies to defeat them, collect items for points, and occasionally interact with objects to open paths. The game keeps a password system for saving progress, so write down the codes that appear after completing a level. There is no in-game save, so those passwords are your only way back.
Watch out for pits and hazards that cause instant death - checkpoints are rare, so repeated attempts on tougher stages are normal. The time machine theme means each level has a different historical setting, but the core platforming remains consistent throughout.
