Getting Started

When you start the game, you will likely see a title screen and then a menu to select a language. Choose your preferred language from the options available in the European release. The game follows the story of Kirikou, a small boy from a West African village, and you control him through side-scrolling levels.

Core gameplay involves running to the right, jumping over pits and obstacles, and using your B button to attack enemies. You will need to collect items and avoid dangers to reach the end of each stage. The game is linear, so you progress from one level to the next after completing each one. Pay attention to platform edges and enemy patterns, as the controls are responsive but require precise timing for jumps.

There is no multiplayer mode; this is a single-player adventure. Save features were rare on Game Boy Color cartridges, so expect to restart from the beginning if you turn off the system, unless the game uses a password system. The difficulty is moderate, aimed at younger players but still challenging enough for platformer fans.
