Getting Started

When you start the game, you are dropped into a mystery scenario as Conan Edogawa. The core loop involves talking to characters, examining environments, and collecting clues. Most interactions are triggered by pressing A in front of people or objects. The game is entirely in Japanese, so players who don't read the language will need to rely on context, trial and error, or a written guide to progress. The menu screen (Start) lets you view items, clues, and save your game - saving is done at certain points, so make sure to use the save function when prompted.

Navigation is straightforward: use the D-Pad to move Conan across static screens. B cancels dialogue selections, and X confirms. Expect plenty of text and dialogue choices. Some puzzles require combining items or presenting clues to suspects - there is no combat, so the focus is purely on investigation and logic. If you get stuck, try speaking to every character again after a new event triggers, as many adventure games of this era rely on repeating conversations to advance the story.
