Mahjong Joou is a traditional Japanese mahjong game, likely following the standard rules of riichi mahjong. Menus are entirely in Japanese, so a basic understanding of the game's flow or use of translation resources will help navigate initial selections. The opening screen probably offers options like starting a new game (aratanaru geemu) or continuing, using default controls to confirm.

Once in a match, the core loop involves drawing tiles from a wall, forming winning hands through melds (pon, chi, kan) and discarding tiles. The computer opponents take turns, and scoring follows complex point tables typical of mahjong.
