Hugo - Black Diamond Fever - Platformer Classic

Hugo - Black Diamond Fever is a Game Boy Color game released in Europe around the early 2000s. It's part of the long-running Hugo series, based on the popular Danish troll character from television. The game supports nine languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Finnish, which was common for European releases of the era. The publisher and developer are not widely documented, though ITE Media often handled Hugo titles. The player controls Hugo through a series of side-scrolling levels, with the likely goal of collecting black diamonds while avoiding enemies and obstacles. Given the limited documentation, the exact mechanics are not fully confirmed, but the game follows the typical platformer structure of the Hugo series. You can run, jump, and interact with objects, though specific power-ups or level themes remain unverified. As a lesser-known entry in the Hugo franchise, Black Diamond Fever offers a piece of late-era Game Boy Color gaming. It is not a revolutionary title, but it provides a competent platforming experience for fans of the character or collectors of multi-language European releases. Its simple, colorful visuals and straightforward gameplay make it a decent choice for a quick playthrough, though it does not stand out among other platformers on the system.
