Getting Started

Start a new game from the title screen using the A button (X key). You will name your character and choose a farm layout. The game begins with a small plot of land, basic tools, and a handful of seeds. Since this is a Japanese-only release, all menus use Japanese text. Familiarize yourself with common menu icons: a seed packet for planting, a watering can for irrigation, and a sickle for harvesting.

The core loop involves clearing your field, tilling soil, planting seeds, and watering them daily. Crops take several in-game days to mature. While waiting, you can explore the town, talk to villagers, and take on odd jobs. Money comes from selling produce at the shipping bin. Upgrade your tools and expand your farm over time. Keep an eye on your stamina gauge - exhaustion sends you to bed early.

If you are new to the series, start with the tutorial prompts that appear as text boxes (they are in Japanese but use simple kanji and symbols). Try to identify the tools by their sprites. The day ends when you go to bed, and time passes quickly. Save your game at the start of each day by talking to the dog or using the item menu. With patience, you will build a thriving farm and unlock new areas.
