Super C, released in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, is a run and gun game developed by Konami. It's a sequel to the original Contra and follows the same gameplay style that made its predecessor popular. This title is notable for its cooperative multiplayer mode, allowing two players to team up against waves of enemies across various levels. In Super C, players take on the role of soldiers battling against an alien invasion. The gameplay involves navigating through side-scrolling levels filled with enemies and obstacles while utilizing a variety of weapons and power-ups. Players can choose to run, jump, and shoot their way through each level, facing off against challenging bosses at the end of certain stages. The game emphasizes fast-paced action and requires quick reflexes to dodge enemy attacks and projectiles. This title remains a classic for fans of the genre, showcasing the essence of run and gun gameplay that defined many arcade experiences of the time. While it may not have the same level of recognition as some other NES titles, Super C offers a solid challenge and a nostalgic experience for those who appreciate retro gaming.
