Mr. Do's Wild Ride is a platform arcade game originally released by Universal in 1984. It is the third game in the Mr. Do! series, following the original Mr. Do! and Mr. Do's Castle. An MSX 1 port came out in 1985, bringing the arcade experience to home computers. The game runs on MSX 1 hardware, which was popular in Japan and parts of Europe during the early 1980s. In Mr. Do's Wild Ride, you control the clown-like Mr. Do as he moves through side-scrolling levels. The core gameplay involves running and jumping across platforms while avoiding or defeating enemies. Unlike the earlier Mr. Do! games which were maze-based, this entry is a straightforward platformer where you must reach the end of each stage. The MSX version retains the arcade's basic mechanics, though the graphics and sound are naturally scaled down for the home system. This title is worth checking out if you are a fan of classic platformers from the early 80s. It offers a different take on the Mr. Do! universe compared to the more puzzle-oriented earlier games. The MSX port is a faithful adaptation, making it a nice piece of gaming history for collectors and retro enthusiasts. It is not a deep or complex game, but it stands as a solid example of the arcade-to-home conversions of its era.

How to play Mr. Do's Wild Ride online

To begin playing Mr. Do's Wild Ride on MSX 1, press Enter to start the game. You control Mr. Do as he runs and jumps through side-scrolling levels. Use the Arrow Keys to move left or right and X to jump. The S button is used for running or attacking, depending on the situation - in the arcade original, you could use a power-up to shoot enemies. The core objective is to navigate each stage from the start to the exit while avoiding hazards and enemies. The game follows the typical platformer loop: you progress through a series of levels, each ending when you reach a flag or door. There are no continues in the MSX version, so you have a limited number of lives. Enemies appear in fixed patterns, so learning their movement is key. If you hit an enemy without a power-up, you lose a life. The game does not have a battery save, so you must finish it in one sitting. Menus are in English, so navigating is straightforward - just press Start to begin and use the D-Pad if there is any option selection.
