Exchanger
Exchanger Overview
This is an MSX1 version of Money Puzzle Exchanger, a puzzle game originally developed by Face and released for the Neo Geo MVS arcade system in 1997. It later saw ports to the Game Boy and PlayStation, but this particular MSX1 build appears to be a demake or homebrew conversion - running the same core concept on 8-bit hardware. The platform shift means you're getting a much older system's take on a late-arcade puzzle title, which is an interesting technical curiosity for fans of both MSX and Neo Geo.
How to Play Exchanger Online
The core gameplay of Exchanger revolves around swapping adjacent tiles to match sets of identical coins or currency symbols. You begin each round with a grid of mixed items; your goal is to clear as many as possible by creating rows or columns of three or more matching pieces. The game usually has a timer or limited moves, so think ahead before each swap.
If you're playing the MSX1 version, note that menus may be entirely in Japanese. Look for the start button to begin a new game, and experiment with the D-pad to navigate selection screens. The controls listed above are for the EmulatorJS layout used on the site. There is no in-game tutorial, so expect to learn the patterns through trial and error. Focus on setting up chain reactions for higher scores.
