Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4 - Saikyou Kettousha Senki - Yuugi Deck

Getting Started: Upon booting the game, you are taken to a title screen where selecting 'Duel' begins a new game. You choose your starting deck (here it's preset as Yugi's Deck) and then face opponents in turn-based card battles. The core loop involves drawing cards, summoning monsters, and using spell/trap cards to reduce the opponent's Life Points from 4000 to zero. The game uses the same basic rules as the physical Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG at that time, with some simplifications for the handheld.

Because this is a Japanese-only cartridge, all text is in Japanese. To navigate menus, look for the kanji デュエル (duel) for battle, デッキ編集 (deck edit) to modify your deck, and ショップ (shop) to buy booster packs. Commands during a duel are usually represented with icons: a sword for attack, a shield for defense mode, and a cross for canceling actions. Experimenting with the menu flow is part of the learning curve for non-Japanese players.
