This is NBA In the Zone for Game Boy Color, a revision release (Rev A) of Konami's portable basketball game. Originally debuting on PlayStation as part of Konami's XXL Sports brand, this handheld version brings the fast-paced five-on-five action to Nintendo's portable system. It was released in the USA and is one of several NBA In the Zone entries that appeared on multiple platforms during the late 1990s. The player takes control of an NBA team and plays simulated basketball games. You can pass, shoot, dribble, and defend using the console's buttons. The game includes basic play-calling and a season mode where you steer your team through a full schedule. On the Game Boy Color, the perspective is top-down, and matches are shortened to fit the portable format. As a revision, this cartridge likely contains bug fixes or minor gameplay tweaks compared to the original Game Boy Color release. It's a straightforward sports title that captures the essence of the era's basketball games in a portable package. While not as deep as console versions, it offers a solid arcade-style experience for fans of retro sports gaming.

How to play NBA In the Zone online

Getting started: When you boot the game, you'll see a title screen and then a menu to select game mode. Choose Exhibition, Season, or Playoffs. You'll also pick your team and opponent. Each game lasts a few minutes, divided into quarters. On offense, move with the D-Pad and pass to teammates by pressing the button mapped to the A or B button. To shoot, press the jump button near the basket. On defense, you can steal or block by pressing the action button when close to the ball handler. There's no tutorial, so experiment with the controls in an exhibition match first. The computer AI is decent for the era, and winning requires smart passing and timing your shots.
