Doraemon no Quiz Boy - Educational Classic

Doraemon no Quiz Boy is a Japanese Game Boy Color release that puts the beloved robotic cat from the future front and center in a quiz game format. It was part of a wave of licensed Doraemon titles during the late 90s and early 2000s, though the exact year and developer are not widely documented by official sources. This cartridge was only sold in Japan, so it's a niche find for collectors who want to test their knowledge while enjoying the Doraemon universe. Players answer multiple-choice questions across various categories, likely themed around the Doraemon series and general trivia. The game presents a question on screen, then you pick one of several answers using the D-Pad and confirm with the A button. Correct answers earn points, and wrong ones might subtract or end the round. There is no action gameplay, just pure quiz mechanics wrapped in cheerful pixel art of Doraemon and his friends. Since the menus are in Japanese, non-readers may need to memorize patterns or use a guide. This title is worth a look if you are a Doraemon fan or enjoy retro quiz games from an era when handhelds had a strong library of simple, licensed software. It's not a deep game, but it captures the charm of the character and the straightforward pick-up-and-play style of portable quizzes. Compared to other Japanese-exclusive quiz games, Doraemon no Quiz Boy stands as a faithful representation of the franchise without overcomplicating things.

How to play Doraemon no Quiz Boy online

Getting started

When you boot up Doraemon no Quiz Boy, you'll see a Japanese title screen. Press Start to proceed. The main menu is in Japanese, but the first option is typically to start a new quiz game. If you have a save file, the second option may be to continue. Without reading Japanese, you can press A on the top choice to begin. Once in a quiz round, a question with multiple answers appears. Use the D-Pad to highlight your choice, then press A to confirm. Correct answers usually earn a score or advance you to the next question. Wrong answers may lower your score or end the session early. There is no timer, so take your time. The game likely cycles through several categories, including trivia about Doraemon characters and gadgets. Because the entire interface is in Japanese, write down common kanji for 'correct', 'wrong', and 'score' if you want to track your progress. The core loop is simply answer questions, see results, and repeat. There is no exploration or action. If you get stuck, try selecting random answers on the first playthrough to learn the layout.
