All Star Tennis 2000 (Europe)
All Star Tennis 2000 (Europe) - Sports Classic
This is All Star Tennis 2000 for the Game Boy Color, a sports title published by Ubisoft and released exclusively in Europe during June 2000. North American players never got an official release, making this a European-only entry in Ubisoft's All Star Tennis line. It's a straightforward tennis simulation built for the handheld, carrying the basic conventions of video game tennis from that period.
How to Play All Star Tennis 2000 (Europe) Online
Getting Started
When you boot up All Star Tennis 2000, you are greeted with a menu offering match types like Exhibition and Tournament. Pick a male or female player from a small roster, then choose a court surface (grass, clay, hard). The core loop is serving, returning, and rallying against an opponent until one wins the set.
Movement uses the D-Pad to position your player. Press the A button to swing your racket; holding the direction while pressing A applies topspin or slice. The B button performs a lob or drop shot depending on position. Timing your swing relative to the ball's bounce is critical - mistime it and you'll hit a weak return or miss entirely.
Matches follow standard tennis scoring (15-30-40-game). The AI provides a decent challenge but patterns can be learned. If you want variety, the Tournament mode lets you play through multiple matches, with court surfaces affecting ball speed and bounce. There are no complex RPG elements or story - just pick up and play tennis.
