Wonder Stadium '99 is a baseball simulation game released for the WonderSwan handheld in 1999. It was published by Bandai and was exclusive to Japan, fitting into the early sports lineup for the platform. The '[M]' in the filename likely indicates a cartridge revision or minor update rather than a mod or hack, but documentation is sparse. The player takes control of a baseball team, managing batting and pitching through simplified mechanics typical of the era. The game presents a standard nine-inning structure with basic controls for swinging, throwing, and base running. It uses the WonderSwan's monochrome screen to display the field and player positions. As a niche sports title, Wonder Stadium '99 offers a glimpse into how baseball games transitioned to handheld systems in the late 90s. It is not a deep simulation but rather a quick pick-up-and-play experience. For collectors of WonderSwan games, it represents one of the few sports titles on the system, making it a curiosity worth trying if you enjoy retro baseball games.

How to play Wonder Stadium '99 online

Getting Started

When you start the game, you will likely see a menu screen in Japanese. The top option is probably "Start Game" or "Exhibition" - try pressing X (A button) to proceed. You may need to select a team or choose single-game mode; navigate with the arrow keys and confirm with X.

The core gameplay is baseball: you control the pitcher by selecting pitch type and location, then the batter by timing your swing. After hitting the ball, use the D-Pad to run the bases. The game uses simple button presses for fielding - pressing S (B button) throws the ball to the base nearest your runner.

Since the game is entirely in Japanese, understanding menus may require some trial and error. For example, pressing V (Select) might toggle settings or bring up a pause menu. If you get stuck, try pressing Enter (Start) to see if it opens a help screen or exits a menu.
