Getting Started

When you first boot the game, you'll see a Japanese title screen. Use the D-Pad to navigate menus - the A button (X on keyboard) confirms selections, and B (S) cancels or goes back. The game's main mode is a single-player exhibition or tournament, where you pick a wrestler from the NJPW roster and battle opponents in the ring.

Matches play like a standard wrestling simulation: you grapple, strike, and attempt to wear down your opponent before hitting a finisher and pinning them for a three count. The controls are simple but timing matters for reversals and special moves. Since the menus are entirely in Japanese, you may need to experiment to find options like match length or difficulty settings. Focus on the first few options to start a quick match.

The core loop is selecting a wrestler, fighting through a series of bouts, and trying to win the championship. There is no story mode beyond the tournament structure. Practice against the computer to learn move sets - each wrestler has unique grapples and signatures. If you get stuck, remember that the B button cancels moves and the shoulder buttons (Q and E) likely taunt or perform special actions.
