Nobunaga no Yabo (J) [M]
Getting to Know Nobunaga no Yabo (J) [M]
Nobunaga no Yabo is a grand-strategy simulation from Koei, originally part of their long-running series about feudal Japan. This WonderSwan version, labeled with the Japanese region code and an [M] revision mark, was released exclusively in Japan. Koei ported the classic territorial conquest and management gameplay to the handheld, letting players command clans and wage war during the Sengoku period. The small screen and limited controls meant the interface had to be compact, but the core loop of building armies, forging alliances, and expanding your domain survived intact.

Section 2 - Getting Started:
Nobunaga no Yabo is a turn-based strategy game. When you start, you will choose a clan - typically the Oda, but other factions are available. The main screen shows a map of provinces divided by borders. Your first task is to assess your holdings, check your treasury, food stores, and military strength. Each turn you issue orders: develop agriculture, recruit soldiers, build fortifications, or send diplomats.
Combat occurs when you move an army into an enemy province. Battles play out automatically with results depending on generals' skills and troop numbers. Victory expands your territory, but overextending can leave you vulnerable. The core loop revolves around careful resource management and timing your offensives. Since this is a Japanese-only release, menu text is in kanji and kana. If you cannot read Japanese, keep a translation guide or screenshot reference handy for critical options like "military" (軍事) or "diplomacy" (外交).
