Cosmic Carnage (Europe)
Cosmic Carnage (Europe): 32X Fighting
Cosmic Carnage is a fighting game that landed on the SEGA 32X in 1994, exclusive to Europe as far as this particular release goes. It was cooked up by Almanic Corporation with help from ALU, and Sega handled publishing duties. This was an early addition to the 32X library, a time when the add-on was trying to carve out a niche with arcade-style titles like this one.
How to Play Cosmic Carnage (Europe) Online
Getting Started
When you fire up Cosmic Carnage, you'll see a menu with two playable modes: a single-player arcade ladder and a versus mode for two players. Pick your fighter from the roster of eight, each tied to one of two warring factions. The core loop is simple - you face off against opponents one-on-one, trying to drain their health bar before they drain yours.
The game uses a six-button layout, which might feel redundant on a standard controller but gives you separate punches, kicks, and special move shortcuts. Special moves and finisher techniques are executed through specific button combos, so experiment in versus mode to discover them. Timing and spacing matter more than frantic button mashing, but the controls are responsive enough to pull off basic attacks without much trouble.
If you're coming from Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, expect a slower pace and fewer complex inputs. The ai can be tough on higher difficulties, but the versus mode is where this game shines for quick couch sessions. There's no story mode to worry about - just pick, fight, and repeat until you've seen all endings.
