When you start World Jockey, you are presented with Japanese menus - navigate using the D-Pad and confirm options with the A button (X key). Since the game is entirely in Japanese, recognizing menu icons (like a horse silhouette for race start or flags for settings) helps you get into the action without reading the text. The race itself is viewed from a side-scrolling perspective, with your jockey visible on horseback. Pressing the A button (X) repeatedly applies the whip to increase speed, but overuse drains stamina and slows you down late in the race. The D-Pad moves you up or down to avoid crowds or find clearer running lines. A simple power bar at the bottom indicates your horse's condition; managing it is key to winning longer races.
